2014 Rules

Monster Mini Stock Assn rules for 2014

*note 2 engine combinations*


BODY -
• stock auto only
• may have complete aluminum body
• inner panel may be removed
• rear of car must be closed - no holes or flaps
• must have stock front firewall in stock location
• must have floor pan
• must have rear firewall or driver compartment must be boxed in
• aluminum doors and fenders ok but must retain stock shape and appearance
• after market nose piece ok
• must run hood
• interior spoiler can be no higher than dash
• may run a rear spoiler - cant go over side of quarter panel - no longer than wideth of car - must be self supporting - spill plates ok
• made quarter panel pieces must start at bottom of bumper and go in a straight line to wheel opening
• all firewall holes must be covered
• may replace top 1/4 of firewall with steel or aluminum metal (this dont mean the whole fire wall)
• may replace dash with sheet metal - interior metal cannot be higher than dash
• may use lexan in rear side windows
CHASSIS
• must have roll cage and all safety equipment
• cage must be secured to unibody
• may tie chassis together on top of floor pan only
• square tubing from front bumper to firewall can be used


ENGINE option 1 HARRIS STOCK 4TYPE WEIGHT LB PER CC 2000LB MINIMUM
BOTTOM
• stock engine location - no set backs
• no engines with more than 2 valves per cytlinder
• cc must be based on original bore of block
• formula for cc - bore x bore x .7854 x stroke x 4 = cid then divide cid into .061 (5 cc's for wear allowed)
• no rotery or turbo or double OHC permitted
• OEM only .080 over max bore - not to exceed 2500 cc
• aluminum cam gear or pulley allowed
• any steel rod - no aluminum or titanium
• stock crank with stock stroke
• can not be lightened (Lightened crank add EXTRA 50 lbs in front of fire wall)
• oil pan - any wet
• no dry sumps allowed
• any flat top piston - toyota 1600 and 1800 may run dome of .235 tall only

.267 dome pistons must add 50 lbs


HEADS
• OEM may be changed from one size engine to another
• may have competition valve job with any angle or depth
• must not touch bottom of valve boss
• all angles must be concentric with valve guide
• any steel valve stock diameter may be undercut stem
• double valve springs ok but must be steel
• any steel or retainer
• lifter has to be stock diameter - solid ok
• no porting or polishing


INTAKES
• OEM only

• no porting or polishing
• may bore straight down for clearance - no radius or blending
• no fuel injection manifolds except for chevrolet and any other engine that only came with
fuel injection
• may modify for carburetor but must be approved before race

CARBURETOR
• stock carburetor or holley 350 CFM (#7448 or 0-80787-1)or 500 cfm #4412
• must have airhorn with number
• may cut end of screws
• no thinning of shafts
• no polishing or grinding
• spacer and adapter - any 1" max thick together - NO TOLERANCE
• 2 gaskets @ .070 thick max each


CAM
• solid or hydraulic
• maximum .425 lift at valve with .025 lash at valve for solid
• maximum .455 lift at valve with 0 lash at valve for hydraulic
• no swapping of any lobes - must be in stock order


FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
• stock flywheel must weigh 16 lbs.
• must have stock or stock replacement clutch and pressure plate
• stud for pressure plate ok
• cannot relocate bolt hole pattern
• no scallop flywheels


TRANSMISSIONS
• must be stock with working forward and reverse gears
• must have safety loop
• cannot remove or lighten of gears


DRIVE SHAFT
• minimum of 1 1/2" diameter
• any steel
• must be painted white with number on it

Bottom end:
1.STOCK CRANK NO LIGHTNING
2..060 BORE PERMITTED
3.5.2 ROD ONLY CAN BE AFTERMARKET STEEL

Heads:
A. Must be stock for make and model.
B. Stock- 1 piece stock replacement valve permitted (can be single lock groove). Double valve springs permitted.
C. Stock, one piece stock replacement valve permitted.NO TAPPER VALVE STEMS Double valve springs permitted.
D. Any Hyd. (.455 lift) cam permitted.CHECKED WITH SOLID LIFTER AT 0 LASH
E. Cam gear permitted.
F. Stock cast iron manifold or header permitted.
G. Shims under lifter permitted.
H. No Porting & Polishing permitted


Intake Manifold:
A. Stock intake and stock fuel injected (with adapter) permitted. No sidewinder intake permitted. *** NOTE EFI INTAKE ONLY USED WITH GA RULES**
B.No sidewinder intake permitted.
C. No porting or polishing permitted


Carburetor:
A. 1" spacer or adapter permitted.
B. 350 (#7448) and 500(#4412) carb. No polishing and porting.

 

Heads:
A. Must be stock for make and model.
B. Stock- 1 piece stock replacement valve permitted (can be single lock groove). Double valve springs permitted.
C. Stock, one piece stock replacement valve permitted. Double valve springs permitted.
D. Hyd. (.455 lift) cam permitted.NO ROLLERS
E. Cam gear permitted.

REAR ENDS
• any stock up to 8.8 for make of car
• no gun drilled axles
• no full spools
• housing cannot be modified for gear clearance
• may lock rearends
• no lightening of any gears

Cut gears must add 25lbs


SUSPENSION
• must be stock suspension
• lowering blocks ok
• adjustable buckets ok springs must be in stock location (Buckets may be raised for spring travel but keep stock angle.)

• may run spring buckets
• caster and camber plates ok
• stock body shocks only
• may adjust shocks for travel but cannot change the angle of the shock
• may change pinion angle
• after market bushing in a-frames and trailing arms ok but may not swivel
• bushings or offset bushings ok in steering rack

mono balls allowed
** JACK BOLTS PERMITTED**

1. 3 wheel brake shut off permitted

2. Dual master Cylinder permitted with NO adjuster

3. Stock rotors NO MODIFICATIONS

4. Factory 4 wheel Disc brakes permitted

1.NO FWD OR MID ENGINE CARS
2.REAR BUMPERS MUST *NOT* EXTEND PASSED THE INSIDE OF REAR TIRES *UNLESS* IT HAS A BUMPER COVER

3. VP Fuel 110 or 114 non oxygenated fuel only

4. Radiator Must Remain In Front Of Motor
